Hi!
Here are some more or less random clips from my recent tour in China:
Best things about China: People are warm and friendly, the food is great, and the energy is amazing. It is just so happening at the moment.
Worst things about China: The pollution is awful. It´s incredibly bad.
Any luck to go fishing ? DId you buy a rod (since I’ve heard almost all rods are made in CHina….)
No, no fishing 🙁 I thought about checking out some fishing rods, but there was too little time (and I hadn´t done any research). I guess almost everything we consume is made in China nowadays, including fishing gear…
The waters around for example Wuhan and Beijing were not tempting, too say the least. Horribly polluted, unfortunately. But China is huge – like a continent of its own, really – so surely there must be lots of beautiful waters to fish. Anyone?
Hehe, around the big cities, the civilization made big impact to the environment. If you want to find beautiful water to fish, you have to go far from cities.
For example:

We from Scandinavia and probably every other country around the world have to take some of the blame for polluting China… Sure we keep most of our own backyards clean, but the waste from production of what we buy must land somewhere. After seeing the “Wild China” on BBC, there is one hell of a beautiful country we are polluting. Hope we don’t destroy it completely…
Yeah, I agree with you, Orro. We in the west have moved the production of most of our dirty stuff to China, and the Chinese are paying a huge price for their economic boom. Hopefully, they’ll be able to clean it up in the future. I noticed that there is quite the debate about environmental issues in China at the moment, so there is hope at least. If anyone can fix this, it’s China;)
